Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?

I am reading Revolver by Robert Rodriguez at the moment, so it is very handy to find out that the #1 single in the UK on this day in 1966 (so today, that is) was ‘Paperback Writer’.










Written after Paul read an article in The Daily Mail (possibly about aspiring writer Martin Amis) and recorded on April 13 and 14, the song was backed with ‘Rain’ (more on that another time). Read more about the song here
