Only In England (part two)

As well as the photographs of Tony Ray-Jones,  the Only In England exhibition showed the early work of Martin Parr. I am full of admiration for Parr, who took some of Ray-Jones’ ideas and ran – and is still running – with them. Showing Parr’s work from mainly the mid-seventies, the photographs illustrate the “non-conformists” of Hebden Bridge, as well as inhabitants of other northern towns.
